I used many of my Halloween sets to make this simple invite. We will be hosting our first party for some of my son's school friends. I really like the simplicity of them.
One of the games will be BINGO, so check back to see our cards soon.

Happy Valentine's Day
These last set of cards we put together for my son's teachers. Not sure which I love more...votes were evenly divided in my house! Enjoy your day and make sure to eat some chocolate :o)

Double Dip!
I had wanted to make these photo cards at Christmas, but time ran away before I had time to get them done. These were posted on Jackie Topa's blog and are really amazing as a holiday wreath. But with a change of color scheme they became Valentine's cards. My local photo shop did not make small enough prints to fit in as well as Jackie's did. I will do some research on where to make smaller prints for the holidays. I also used a part of a card on Heather Summer's blog. The 'love you' with the heart punched out of a small circle was on a digital card she had made and posted. SO there you have my double dip!!

Run, Run, Rudolph!
I saw these ever so cute thumbprint Rudolph's on Marlene Peters blog. As I was finishing them up I remembered having tiny google eyes from making candy cane Rudolph's....these were a big hit with recipients this year!

Girls Night In
As manager of a daycare centre, I struggle sometimes with getting all the girls out to team build. We are a very diverse group but it is important that we can make connections to keep up quality care. They always love the treats and cards I leave them, so it seemed like a great idea to get us all together and make our holiday cards for the other departments & agencies we deal with all year. Add some food & sangria and a good night was had by all!

Forest Festivities
Finally, I am getting around to posting some Christmas cards! And at less than a week before the big day.....where has all the time gone?!? I had ordered some watercolor paper and the crayons to attempt a different look from the everyday markers (which I still prefer). This stampset is one I fell in love with right away, the Santa is so adorable :o) But I chose this image to really force me to do some coloring....my hand was aching 40 cards later!!

Some Snowbuddies
I finally got through my mess on my floor. These cards use up some retired SU stuff and the new set Snow Buddies-which I love. At Christmas, I seem to be drawn into snowmen! Sorry about the photos I was trying to get the embossed velvet to look clear. This paper is from a local scrapbook shop and I love the texture it gives cards. A shame you can not get the sense form photos.

The Day for Dads..
My hubby does not like me making him a card; since I do not like him spending money on one for me he usually skips that part of gift giving. Maybe one day he'll hit my stash and create something but I am not holding my breath :o) The one for him has shades of blue and a big heart where I stamped the greeting.
My own father's is the one full of nature colors and of course, a bird!
I am pleased with both these manly cards!!

Better Late than Never...
So fingers crossed (and as I knock on wood!) all tech issues with my computer are solved. This means a little bit of catch up with the past month. Mainly cards, because of so many celebrations this month. I am a little disappointed in myself because it was Scrapbooking month and I never did one single layout. But I am ready with many ideas and only need time to put on paper!
This was my own mum's card for Mother's Day...simple but I love the pop of colors :o)

No Stamped Images
I have all my Valentine stamps still in boxes in my unfinished room. All my boxes were within reach, but someone decided to rearrange to look at starting the work and now my boxes are buried deep in the mess :o( Least to say, I am not impressed. But happy the work has begun.
My son was enjoying punching out little hearts and he had a ton of extras. This 3x3 just came to me and took only minutes to put together. I think it's sweet.

Christmas Angel
If you look in the mini catalogue from SU you will see my inspiration for my card this year. Normally, I am not one to make cards with more religious aspects-usually, they are cute!-but with my family having lost many loved ones this year this stamp seemed to be appropriate.
I changed up some of the colors, and used embossing folders to make my own DSP. My watercolor skills could be better with more practice, but I love how her wings turned out using some sparkling embossing powder! Happy Holidays....

A simple Chocolate Bunny
I'll admit this stamp was not a winning choice for me, but I have had some fun with it. As a single stamp and being inexpensive it makes for some neat Easter cards. Riley was the reason I purchased it...."it's so cute!" and I could not say no. These two were created with all the same colors and some retired DSP.

Seasonal Thanks!
I had hoped to have these made to show them off because they were only available in the SU mini, but got wrapped in holiday excitement and only managed to finish them this weekend.
Riley adored these little snowman. And it made it so easy for him to send off thank yous for all his Christmas loot! There is a similar idea in the shape of a birthday cupcake available in the regular catalogue. If you look carefully, you can see that Riley added rosy cheeks with his crayons. So adorable!

Snow Swirled Wreath
I adjusted this idea, only slightly, from a card I saw in the Splitcoast by someone who goes by 'CA mom of 2'. It was so cute and a wonderful idea. The large snowflake in the set was inked in Old Olive and stamped around a paper cut out circle. Red ink and the small snowflake made the berries. It is hard to tell in the photo but some glitter was added on the berries for holiday sparkle. Nothing like opening a Christmas card and getting some bling with it!

Some Holiday Samples
Every year, instead of presents to my over sized extended family, we choose a charity to make a contribution to in honor of the family name. I find we get so overwhelmed to pick out gifts for so many and this makes me feel like I am doing something worth while. It is always something personal, too. With Riley having started Kindergarten, I made a contribution to World Vision Canada to buy school books and feed a school group.
These cards were created skinny and long enough for a letter to be enclosed (along with our holiday wishes!) letting everyone know where their aid was given this year. The paper originated from a factory back in my mum's hometown (Bucksburn, Aberdeen) where many of my family have held jobs! Paper is in my blood naturally :o)
