Gift Cards...with a personal touch
I love giving gift cards, simply because they are easy to mail and it is almost always a 'sure thing' gift. Even though you are given card holders, you can always add a personal touch by making your own. So for the book lover, a card can be given in a bookmark which is easily reused while reading their gift from you. Simply folding up some card stock in front makes the pocket-then stamp to decorate (they'll think of you whenever they open the book). The same goes for a coffee card. I was able to use my Pun Fun set to add the latte cup on the front of a piece of cardstock, scored and folded three times to create a pocket inside. Although I did use my hodgepodge-which is going (boohoo)-to keep the top fold closed, a glue dot would work just as nice! And lastly, I learned how to make gift envelopes at my first ever StampinUp demo party given by Patty Muller (no longer a demonstrator but very creative lady!). Using two envelopes, you seal both closed and then cut one in half. The other you slice just the top off. Using a paper crimper, you crimp the larger piece that will then tuck inside the smaller piece-decorate accorindgly (is this a word?).
