Okay, so if you remember correctly I am not a huge 'scrapbooker' but I have decided I am going to create at least one page a month. I am even considering marking my calendar as a 'page night'. Sad, I know, but I live by my calendar and figure this way it sets me up to succeed. This also means you will need to be prepared to see many photos of my son, dogs and family. They are all very cute (if I do say so myself) so I am sure you will enjoy them!
Now for this page I created, I intended to do a winter page with a fave picture of my son in the snow. But could not find the photo and came across this other favorite. Using colors from the earth elements paper package (they suited all the fall colors in the photo) I cut squares to make a mosaic effect behind the photo. A little time consuming but I really like how it turned out. Then I penciled in the outline of where I wanted the photo to be and built up the square pieces around this outline. I stamped the trees before building my frame just for some background and space filling.
My apologies for the glare off the photo but I needed my flash to take the picture because without it the colors looked faded. After looking at both pictures, with and without the use of the flash, the glare won out over the faded colors-I used my husband's vote on which was better; and then I agreed with him-another thing to mark on the calendar :o)
